This is gorgeous, and I love realizing what the foal's gonna grow into.
The armour, just. Wow. Liberties taken or not, IDC, you rendered it so sweetly.
I think the only bit of critique I would have on this (and forgive me if you're not looking for any at all) is how the foal's back leg looks. There's something slightly off with it, but I'm not sure what, since I know so very little about horse anatomy.
I want to reiterate how gorgeous this is. I always love your painting style and the way it evokes a very art nouveau feel.
Thanks And I looked at alot of references, but I probably should of practiced the foals legs before painting them, they were harder to position then I thought. I'll probably fix it up later at some point <.<
That Horsie made me go "Awww..." Plus! I love the details - as always.! The only thing bothering me, that is very minor, is the right arm's position. Shouldn't it be a little bit more up? But hey! It looks great otherwise, and that's all the "flaws" I can see if I don't start -looking- for them!
Dont be sorry at all, unlike some folks, i dont mind being told "hey that looks weird". I think im really guilty of "its when you look at a piece so long, you cant really tell whats wrong with it" behavior O_o
I think that's with everyone! I now and then Skype with a friend, and we both share our screens there, watching each other draw. We shout if we need help, like "Hey.. there's something wrong with this leg, but I just can't put my finger on it..." And we mostly point it out. "Just move it up a little bit more, make the thigh a weeeee bit thicker... Yep, like that... Also, you have six toes, not five.." "SHHH! I'm an anarchist.. This character shall have ten toes in one foot! *scribblescribble*" "... I love you" "I know you do! *removes the foot and draws it properly*" D We both have so much of a different kind of style, and we respect it. We just give some ideas, and critique while we are drawing. It's a lot more easier, and much more rewarding, than a critique given afterwards. Since you "need" to fix it at that exact time, and force yourself to make it look better. Two pair of eyes is always better than one. Eh?
There are few peoples art that I get super excited to see in my inbox, and you are one of them. This piece is a testiment as to why that is. Tyrael has long been a favorite of mine. I would die to have this on a shirt... absolutely stunning.
